Welcome to the new Spring Term which starts on Saturday 12 January.

Half term week will commence on Monday 18 February will classes resuming from Monday 25 February.

TUESDAY BALLET CLASSES

We are sad to announce that after more than 20 years association with Chadsworth Miss Walther has decided to retire from teaching ballet. However, we still hope to see her around from time to time. In the meanwhile, Miss Walther’s Tuesday afternoon ballet classes will be taken by Miss Katie Martin. However, please note that due to scheduling commitments we are having to move forward the start of the Tuesday ballet classes by 15 minutes. This means that the new timings are:

              4.30 – 5.30        RAD Grade 2 ballet

              5.30 -  6.30        RAD Grade 4 ballet

Our apologies for any inconvenience caused by the rescheduling. Please note that we will be looking to enter some of the girls into the next session of RAD exams to be held in the spring of 2019.

CHADSWORTH IS 50 YEARS OLD IN 2019

To celebrate our 50th birthday we will be organising an anniversary show at the Hampton Hill Theatre in Hampton next July. The 50th birthday show will also mark my personal retirement from Chadsworth although we will be planning to ensure the school continues to run very much on present lines.  We are aiming to include all our classes in the birthday celebration show which will take place on Friday and Saturday 12/13 July. We hope you will be able to support the children in this event.

BRITISH ARTS AWARDS

The first round of the 2019 British Arts Awards competition took place at the village hall back in December last year. We are pleased to announce that some 40 entries achieved a mark of merit or above with items achieving honours going forward to the next round which involves competing with performers from other schools in the South East region. This means we have 16 items in the next round which will take place at NESCOT (North East Surrey College of Technology) in the Adrian Mann Theatre, Reigate Road, Ewell on 2 and 3 March.

 EXAMINATIONS

The next session of the LAMDA drama exams will take place at the village hall on Sunday 14 April. We also aim to hold RAD and ISTD exams toward the end of term.

LOOKING BACK TO LAST TERM

Congratulations to all the students who took their LAMDA drama exams in acting, verse and prose, singing and musical theatre. We obtained some truly outstanding results and congratulations to everyone concerned.

OUTSIDE PERFORMANCE WORK

Congratulations to all our talented performers who provided a number of dance routines to accompany The Ember Big Band at a concert in aid of Shooting Star Chase on 29 September at the Hammond Theatre,  Hampton School, Hanworth Road. Hampton. The dancers received any accolades not only from the audience by the band, the organisers and the charity.

I hope you all have an enjoyable term with us and please feel free to contact the school office if you have any questions or queries.
